Franklin Community School Corporation
Twenty miles south of Indianapolis and 90 miles north of Louisville, Kentucky, on I-65 and U.S. 31, is Franklin (population 21,201). Franklin is named after one of our nation's founding fathers, Benjamin Franklin. Franklin, located in the heart of Johnson County, serves as the county seat. A popular suburban community, Franklin's population has grown 8.9% since 2000. As expected, the Franklin Community School Corporation has experienced growth as well. We have added 583 students since 2000 to bring us to our current corporation total of 4779.
